Can I use the Polytel keyport with PRO600?

Yes, the Polytel keyport can be used with PRO600 on the Windows NT platform. Using a Y-cable, the keyport is plugged into the computer’s keyboard port. The keyport delivers the same signals as the keyboard, meaning that the computer is unaware of which device is providing the input. Note the following however: 1. The keyport cannot currently be programmed from a computer running Windows NT, due to hardware security mechanisms in the operating system. To program the device, access to a computer running DOS is required. This can be achieved by booting the NT computer from a DOS-bootable diskette. The manufacturers of the Polytel keyport are working to resolve this issue. 2. LH Systems currently does not provide a sample menu for the keyport for use with PRO600 for DPW. A menu is available for use with PRO600 for LMT on analytical stereoplotters.
