No. One should NOT use the WX’s LIP ZERO knob to tune the synth. Instead, there is a global fine tune parameter on the VL70-m (and all other synths) for this purpose. It’s probably safe to say that every pro-level synth ever made has a fine tune feature to enable it to tune to an out of tune piano for example. This is especially critical with the VL synths since the models are designed to resonate at the proper frequencies. If you set the LIP ZERO off center and play, the VL will probably not sound as intended. For an extreme example, set the Lip Zero far off center and play a VL trumpet patch… You will be playing in the “mode breaks” between the notes. Not good. One should play the VL with its “PB:” meter hovering around the center point (one line in the middle). So, the VL70-m can be fine tuned globally and it can be tuned in half step increments either globally or per patch. Some details about this are in the VL70-m manual.
