Can I use Terminal Services that comes with Windows2000/2003 Pro instead of Citrix?

• Terminal Services for Windows2000/XP works great with one exception: you can not do anything to get the ticket printers to print remotely. Terminal Services for Windows2000/XP doesn’t deal with remote ticket printing very well by allowing a way to map the LPT ports to the remote computer. This is what Citrix does well. In order to print the patron’s tickets, Theatre Manager needs mapping directly to the LPT printer port. • So, if you need to print tickets remotely, Citrix works. If you don’t, terminal services works. • Some clients have had success with 2003 server and printer redirection. If it does not work, then using redirection and an IP based printer server like an HP Jet Direct may work.
