Vampire Storytellers Handbook (pg.43) offers an optional ruling which makes Celerity and Temporis incompatible. One reason is Temporis represents a refinement of Celerity. It is not a separate Discipline. Under this ruling: • Anyone who already has Celerity can learn Temporis, but Temporis overpowers Celerity. Old levels are converted into experience points, which are halved then used to buy Temporis levels. • A vampire who has already learned Temporis level 1, can never learn Celerity. Period. As I see it, this ruling treats Temporis as Celerity with alternate effects starting at level 1, instead of level 6.
