Can I use SunPC on Solaris/x86?
No. SunPC is an add-on card and software for Solaris on SPARC only. SunPC emulates a PC with the card and “OpenDOS” allowing Windows 3.1/9x to be installed on top of it. The card has a 133 MHz 5×86 AMD processor and RAM. It emulates hard and floppy drives, serial ports, SuperVGA, mouse, keyboard, etc. Generally, SunPC emulates the PC environment OK, although it performs more slowly than a straight PC (your mileage may vary). Software that requires a parallel port hardware key (dongle) won’t work.
