Can I use Sto Powerwall Stucco on the top of parapets?
Parapets should always be protected with metal coping or cap flashing to provide the best weather protection. Although a parapet formed with Sto Powerwall Stucco can be effectively waterproofed with Sto Flexyl or CR241 Sto Watertight Coat, the service life of any finish applied to the parapet will be shortened because of the increased weather exposure. Furthermore, the lack of a drip edge as would normally be provided with metal coping, can cause unsightly staining on the face of the wall area immediately beneath the parapet. For these reasons Sto Corp. discourages the use of its finish products on the top of parapets.
