Can i use sodium hydroxide instead of potassium hydroxide to make black powder?

I’m saying no to both sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide for black powder. Both are strong bases but not good oxidizers. I’m thinking potassium nitrate (saltpeter) is the substance you’re looking for. It’s the oxidizer you need for the powder. Be careful.
