Can I use Smoked Gruyere cheese in chicken Cordon Bleu?

Definitely. In fact, that is the best kind of cheese to put in chicken cordon bleu, I’ve done it several times. That is, of course, if you like smoked Gruyere, it is an acquired taste, but it would be a chef’s first choice. The smokiness goes with the ham– the flavors compliment one another very nicely.

You can, but smoked Gruyere is really strong and it will overpower the taste of the other ingredients. I do not recommend it.

Sounds delicious…..also you could mix a bit of bleau cheese in, as well. My mouth is watering!

there is no law saying you can’t use it, it is up to your personal tastes. if you have the smoked cheese, you obviously like the flavor, so I say use it.
