Can I use Robertshaw Capacitance Level Instruments/Probes in a plastic or insulated tank?
Yes, but a Ground Reference must be supplied. This can be achieved by installing a ground rod, concentric shielded probe (free flowing liquids only), ground wire probe, or an attachment to a metal object in the tank. The type of grounding must be appropriately selected for a particular application. All types will not work for all applications. See RF Level Controls Selection Guide for further instruction.
