Quite often, SVN changes will incorporate database schema changes and/or backend protocol changes. All of your frontend/backend/mythweb/DSMyth installs must use the same database schema and backend protocols, or things will surely break. This means that all parts of MythTV (mythtv, mythplugins, and myththemes) should be installed from the same SVN revision or release version. Likewise, all computers running MythTV on your network (the master backend, slave backends, combined frontend/backend systems, dedicated frontends, etc.) should use the same revision/version. Therefore, when using packaged versions of MythTV, it is considered best that the same distribution be used on all systems. Note, also, that there are multiple branches of development in SVN.
