Can i use plants found in a stream outdoors in my freshwater aquarium?

There are two questions here: Is it safe to introduce the plants to my aquarium? Probably so, provided you quarantine them for a few weeks first. If you don’t quarantine them, you risk introducing various parasites, pests, or fish predators along with the plants, or at least unwanted algae. Will the plants live in my aquarium? Maybe. In the aquarium, they will probably have a different amount of light, water chemistry, water temperature, and amount and direction of water movement than the plants had in the outdoor stream. They may be able to adapt to the new conditions, or they may not.
