Can I use PC programmes for rebreather dive planning?

Yes – “commercially” recognised PC based dive planning tools can be used . Appropriate instruments (computers or Depth-timers) should be used to ensure compliance with the dive plan in the normal manner. When carrying out mixed gas diving it is strongly recommended that multiple decompression tools are carried – for example at least one computer could be carried in addition to a dive timer/depth gauge with (cut) hard tables showing run times for back-up. The dive planning must also take into consideration the experience, interests, equipment and ability of the buddy as in normal branch dive planning. The Rebreather Awareness Course includes a session from the perspective of the Dive Marshal that reviews the various dive planning options available to the rebreather diver.
