Yes, that is possible. The version of the NWDI is independent of the content it manages (please refer to the web log “JDI Software vs. JDI Content” . (JDI was the name for what we now call NWDI – teh blog is valid for both). Please note that due to a change in the deploy tool, to develop applications for SAP NetWeaver 7.1 you need at least the NWDI version SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SPS 13 to support automated deployment. Please note also the requirements regarding runtime systems.
