Can I use my own file server with SMEStorage?
Yes you can do this in two different ways: 1. Use your own FTP Server: SMEStorage enables you to use your own FTP Server as a means of storing files which means the space is only limited by the amount of storage you have, and you can also access these files wherever you are in the world. If you want to ensure these files are backed up, you can use Cloud Sync to set a sync task to back these files up to another public storage cloud. 2. Use your own WebDav Server: WebDAV can be viewed as a network filesystem suitable for the Internet. It is an open, IETF proposed standard and there are many guides on how to setup your own WebDav server on the Internet. As with the FTP solution you are limited only by the storage capacity you have and can again access your files from anywhere in the world and are able to user Cloud Sync to ensure they are backed up to a public cloud. Also don’t forget that with both solutions you can choose to encrypt files as an extra layer of security.
