Can I use my Huskie Bucks to buy books?

No: Huskie Bucks cannot be used to buy books for classes. NIU Students who have Financial Aid and are taking classes on the DeKalb campus have a convienent method of buying books at the beginning of each semester. Students can use their NIU OneCard at the University Bookstore or at the Village Commons Bookstore to buy books and school supplies and charge them to their Bursar Account. (A Bursar Account is the student account where tuition and housing fees are billed. Each student at NIU has a Bursar Account to handle the payment of bills to the University.) Only students who have Financial Aid can utilize this feature. These students are limited to $700 per semseter for fall and spring semesters, and $350 for the summer semester.
