Can I use my GHD hair straightener in Germany or do I need to buy an adapter?
GHD hair straighteners are fitted with a versatile plug which fits both British and continental styles of mains electricity supply. Simply loosen the screw in the base of the British 3-pin plug (UK BS1363 system) to release the European 2-pin plug (Europlug) inside. Countries that use the Europlug include Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Portugal, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Greece, Turkey, Israel, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Rumania, Bulgaria, and Russia. It meets the requirements of CEE 7/16 and will fit any socket that accepts 4.04.8 mm round contacts on 19 mm centres.
