Merchants who already accept American Express® Cards should call 1-800-528-5200 to determine if they will need an additional merchant account number for their Internet business. You must have a bank card merchant account that is specifically designed for internet transactions. If you currently have a merchant account, check with your acquiring institution to see if they can provide you with an internet merchant account.
