Can I use my cell phone charger that fits into the iRiver player?
iRiver H Series players use a battery charger that converts AC Line Voltage(100-240 VAC @ 50-60HZ) into 5 VDC at 2 Amps. However the polarity of this charger is not always the same as phone chargers. IRiver players need to have a charger that is wired to make the center conductor positive and the outer conductor negative. If your phone charger is not wired to operate like that and you do use it your player will turn into an expensive brick…..absolutely 100% for sure! No if’s and’s or but’s! To make sure your phone charger is wired correctly you should attach it to a volt ohm meter and measure both the voltage and polarity it of this voltage. If the voltage and polarity are the same as iRiver but the current is a little low do not worry…..it will work. See the symbol below to refer how the battery charger needs to be wired.
