Can I use MSN / Windows Messenger over ResNet?

MSN Instant Messenger should work, although ISS frequently receive conflicting reports as to whether it works directly, needs to read web cache settings from Internet Explorer, or needs to be configured to work via the web caches in it’s own configuration dialog. During testing ISS have had some success with all 3 methods, but also heard reports that they didn’t work, so it’s a case of finding what seems to work best for you. Certain 3rd party MSN Messenger clients are not as full featured as the official Microsoft one, and thus may not support connecting via the web caches. Voice and Video chat, and file transfer, should, since the introduction of our pilot service, work on ResNet. There are a few provisos outlined in the pilot service section of this FAQ.
