Can I use Miracle Grow on my Phalaenopsis Orchid to fertilize it?

I’d be wary with miracle grow and Phalaenopsis, or any other orchid, as this is a salt based fertiliser. The salts tend to build up in the potting material over time, and can be a major problem for plants. With other types of plants than orchids, which are ok with copious amounts of water, it is easy to flush out the salts periodically. Phalaenopsis and most other orchids prefer a minimal watering, and thus flushing out is somewhat more difficult. Overwatering them can easily cause root rot, and loss of your plant. I’d use it only if you have no other, nor will get any other fertiliser- and just as a stop gap. They’re good with organic fertililisers, like liquid seaweed feeds, or speciality orchid feeds, though the latter can be expensive. I usually feed at a maximum of half strength for whatever fertiliser I use on my Phalaenopsis orchids, often at quarter strength, used at every other watering during the main growing season. I recommend this way as I did harm some of my orchids durin
