Always conduct a test area to verify suitability, acceptability and results, prior to proceeding with the actual grout job. “Picture-framing” (a darkening or discoloration of the stone edges) may occur with some absorptive stone (e.g. Thasos white marble, other statuary marbles, soft porous stone) or agglomerate stone. Conducting a test area will help to determine if “picture framing” will take place.
