In this method of installation, the light switches stand out about 3/8th of an inch (about 1cm) from the wall. Backplates are available in 1, 2, and 3 gang options; additionally dual rocker switches can be used in place of single rocker switches to provide a maximum number of switches in a minimum amount of space.
