Can I use dry-wall adhesive to fix MDF or chipboard to concrete?
“Dry-wall adhesive is not suitable for fixing MDF/Chipboard to concrete, while it may stick to the concrete-the MDF/Chipboard will not bond sufficiently which will eventually result in separation, I would recommend that you do the following instead: Pre-drill the MDF. Offer the MDF up to the wall. Mark the wall through the holes. Drill holes in concrete. Fit rawl-plugs. Put timber back up. Fix using screws (fixings should be at least 2 thirds longer than the thickness of timber). Attach shelves as normal.
