Can I use celebrity images to promote my products on my website?
Using images of people to promote a product it a violation of their rights of publicity unless you have their permission in the form of a model release. You can purchase images that have such release from stock photo sites such as Istock and shutterstock, but it’s unlikely you will find any celebrities, You really need to talk to someone who manages a celebrity and using their likeness won’t come cheap. Simply hot linking an image of a celebrity in a dress may be fair use if you are not directly using it to promote your product but you are walking a fine edge on that and should get legal advice.
