Can I use AvantGo.coms service as well as the UM Medschool AvantGo Server?
Yes! AvantGo.com offers a free service called my.avantgo that allows anyone on the internet to get an account and use AvantGo software on their PDA’s. The difference between their service and ours is that the Medical School’s AvantGo server is on campus and restricted. Many companies provide free content through the my.avantgo service, such as Detroit Free Press or AccuWeather.com. In order to use their site, you need to setup an account. Go to http://my.avantgo.com/home and click on “Get an account”. Follow the instructions and finish by selecting content to be delivered to your PDA. You will not install the software from AvantGo.com. Instead, you will enable the UM Medschool AvantGo software to recognize and use the my.avantgo servers. Here’s how: 1. After creating an account and password, tap AG Connect on the PDA 2. Tap the menu button (located just below the Home button) on the PDA, select New Server from the popup menu 3.
