Can i use anything to clean my mattress?
Vacuuming is always a good move for a mattress. It’ll suck out dead skin cells that are feeding dust mites. (A hepa-filtered vacuum is even better.) As for the surface itself, I’d suggest putting on a mattress cover that can be easily cleaned. They’re available on the cheap from most stores like Target, Wal-Mart etc. You can get a plastic one (let it air out before putting it on the bed) if the kids or dog have the occasional accident. That plastic can be wiped down with soap and water. Or you can get a breathable one designed to block allergens if you have respiratory problems. When a cotton mattress cover gets grimy, you just toss it in the wash with your sheets. I would strongly suggest you avoid washes or sprays. Mattresses are very difficult to dry. If you try to wash it, you could end up with wet spots in the middle that mold and mildew instead of drying. As for sprays, most are chemical-based.
