Can I use any Robertshaw Probe with any Robertshaw Instrument?
No. Each instrument has its own minimum and maximum pF(pico-farad) span that must be met. This pF signal is generated by the particular type of probe, geometry of the installation and dielectric of the process variable being measured. Once a probe is selected for use, it must then be matched to an instrument that will handle the pF span that will be generated. A calculation should be done to insure the minimum and maximum instrument span is met. This calculation must include the Terminal Capacitance Value (see Question 5 – “What is Terminal Capacitance?” in this section). See RF Level Controls Selection Guide for further details.
