can I use any Blackberry but just not use the internet features?
Yep, I do with an 8700c on Cingular but that is a GSM network with a SIM card. If your Verizon Berry uses a SIM card to connect the network then insert a voice only SIM card and it should still work for voice calls and can even import, store your contacts on and from the SIM plus use the built in BB address book and other features. Your screen may display a continuous “Data Connection” error, but this isn’t a surprise. More and more customers like you and I want the BlackBerry sophistication but we don’t want the data plan. If your’s doesn’t use a SIM and is enabled by the IMEI, then see if you can enable the phone by calling Verizon Support / account services and if they won’t or can’t… then drop by a store and you may have to bribe a clerk with some cash to make it work but it don’t spend more than what you’d pay for a month of data service. If you have to bribe a kid, visit a store on a Friday night, chances are the store manager will be gone and you can convince some asst manager
