Can I use any 1x device like the Raven to connect to GPSBaseNet?
You can only use a modem that is certified for use on the cellular carriers network. Right now the anydata modem is the only compact device that is sold by either of the two carriers. You could use a Sierra Wireless PCMCIA 1x Aircard, as this device is certified for use on both Bell’s and Telus’s networks but it requires a computer to enable it to connect to the network. This device coupled with a computer would cost more and be more bulky than the anydata modem from Telus that we recommend.
