Can I use an autovent on a window with friction hinges?

Unfortunately not. Friction hinges are often used on UPVC windows on conservatories. These hinges are fitted at the side of the window which means that it drops down a little before it opens and there is not enough clearance for the unit to work properly the autovent will foul the glass. The autovent only works on windows fitted with normal butt hinges.
