Can I use AlternaTIFF to view email attachments?
Probably, but it depends on your email application, and we can’t offer much help with that. It’s hard enough just getting the major web browsers to behave themselves. With email applications, there are additional complications, including: • Every email program works differently, has different capabilities, and can be configured in different ways. • An email attachment can be constructed in several different ways, which can affect how your email program decides to handle the attachment. (It can have various encodings, Content-Dispositions, MIME Types, etc.) Because of this, you could find that, for no obvious reason, TIFF attachments sent from one person work fine, while those sent from another person do not. • There are several different ways that a TIFF attachment could be handled, each of which may or may not be satisfactory to you.
