Can I use aleppo pine needles as a mulch around my plants?
Yes. There is nothing wrong with pine needles used as mulch. The only problem I might see with this type of mulch is that it is subject to being blown by the wind easily. The pine needles closest to the wet soil will begin to decay and add nutrients to the soil and help to acidify it. Q: My corn did not get full ears. What happened? A: Two things might have happened. One is that corn does not pollinate above 95-degree air temperatures. In our climate corn must be planted very early in the spring after the danger of frost is past. Then you will need temperatures below 95 during pollination and at least 60 days of cool weather until harvest. If planting in the spring, pick a corn with a short time to harvest. If you are planting in the fall then you can use corn with a longer time to harvest. Because of our seasons I would stay away from corn that needs 80 or 90 days to harvest.
