Can I use a Miracle Piano Teaching System keyboard with other piano or teaching software?
In our experience, almost all other Windows MIDI-capable programs also work with the Miracle keyboard, subject to two caveats. First, you must use a MIDI cable, properly connected to the MIDI In/Out connectors on the keyboard and the MIDI/joystick connector on your computer’s sound card (the one connected to the speakers), if your sound card has one. Otherwise, you can use a USB-to-MIDI adapter cable to connect the keyboard to one of your USB ports. You cannot use the serial cable provided with the Miracle and have the keyboard work with other MIDI programs, since the serial interface only works with the Miracle software. Second, you may have to “tweak” your MIDI configuration under Windows as described below. Fortunately, this is easy to do and doesn’t demand any special knowledge. See below for details on how to carry this out. This may be the best use of a Miracle keyboard, given the increasingly dated nature of the Miracle software.
