Yes, and the keyboard shortcut will automatically uncollapse the Shelf (if collapsed), bring it forward and open the associated tab. You can associate a keyboard shortcut to a tab by right clicking on the tab name and selecting ‘Tab Properties’. You can also do this from the Contents tab of the Shelf Properties dialog.
