Can I use a good cigar box as makeshift humidor?
I didn’t get a humidor for Xmas or my B-day and budgeting looks pretty tight for the next six months or so. Unfortunately, I got a box of Perdomo’s in anticipation. This has overflowed my little tupperdor and small desktop humidor. I have resorted to plastic freezer bags and makeshift humidifiers. The Perdomo box looked rather nice and was made of Spanish Cedar. It has a fairly good seal from the generous overlap of the lid and the laquered exterior. I emptied the first row out and put in a humidifier. The box seems to do a fair job of maintaining the humidity, at least according to the hygrometer. The cigars are cello wrapped. I personally don’t see any reason why I can’t use this box for storage. Are there any concerns I should have? I’m going to put together a coolerdor in a few months.
