A cable with one DVI-Dual connector and one HDMI connector can connect two electronic devices. HDMI carries a video and audio signal. DVI-D Dual typically carries a video signal only. Audio output with a cable having one DVI-D Dual connector and one HDMI connector, therefore, requires a separate audio cable.
