Can I use a different email program like Apple Mail or Thunderbird, etc.?
Not with the free account provide through TWU. The Hotmail/Windows Live Mail interface is web only unless you upgrade your email account to a Hotmail Plus account through your email web interface. The service is paid for by the advertising that Microsoft makes available when you are no longer a student. The only email client that you will be able to use with your @mytwu.ca account will be Windows Live Mail desktop which is still currently in beta and not yet widely available.
