Can i use a (Desktop) processor in a laptop motherboard?
Yes, provided that laptop is designed to support Desktop processor. This kind of laptop will not accept Mobile processor in return. The size of laptop normally >17″ and very heavy, power hungry. Most of the laptop processors are not soldered to the motherboard. You see that only in old laptop or nowadays small laptop <13". It is not possible to custom build a laptop on your own because many parts are not standard in dimension i.e. main board, graphic card cooler, cpu cooler, fan etc. The price is high because the manufacturers just cannot release laptop parts in quantity as much as desktop parts. Another factor is the outlook. People like fancy or stylish laptop, so any change of outlook will cause change of part dimension and made them not interchangeable in most cases. If you are really keen of having a laptop that has room for future upgrade (minimal upgrade only), go for Clevo built laptop. There is chance for future graphic card upgrade which other brands in the world cannot offer
