Can I use a calulator on the math assessments?

0

A. PVCC now uses the ALEKS computer adaptive placement tool for most students, which does not allow the use of a calculator other than the one provided within the software. For high school students taking Dual Enrollment courses, the COMPASS math test will be used. While all math items on the COMPASS course placement assessment have been designed to be answered without the use of a calculator, calculators may be used. Certain types of calculators are not permitted. Click here to see calculator rules. Contact the Assessment/Testing Center if you are not sure whether your calculator may be used. An online calculator is provided for your use during the test if you do not bring an acceptable calculator with you.
