Can I use a brand new straight razor and strop as is?
You can use the razor straight out of the box and just use the strop for occasional honing. If it gets too dull, just take it along to your local barber and ask him to sharpen it for you. When I was a little kid I didn’t know razor strops were used for sharpening things! My dad only used his for warming our bare butts!
