Answer Ron No don’t do that! 2 cycle oil is designed for oil mixtures in a rather hot burning engine without an oil pump. It has no ash content as well. Ash is needed to offset the acidity of the motor oil as it builds up while continously running through your car engine. Without this neutralization your oil becomes acidic, dissolving your engine from the inside out (relatively speaking) Oil is not oil (anymore, maybe used to be) todays lubes are very specific for modern engines. Her’s one, SAE40 in an older diesel engine is ok. But in a newer engine 2005 up, if you use the 40wt (as grandpa swears is the way to go) in a newer engine, deposits form in the upper cylinder. Older engines compensated for that by putting the rings lower down on the piston. Newer (smogg) engines have the rings farther up for environmental exhaust reasons, so you use newer SAE 15w40. If not you break the rings real quick! Get Granpa to buy you a new engine. Stick with what is recommended for your engine by loc
