Can I upgrade to Windows 2000 from Win95, Win98, NT 3.51 and/or NT 4.0?

Yes–though how easy the upgrade will be depends on your specific installation. Win2000 setup includes provisions for upgrading from Win3.x, 9x and NT. The upgrade from NT4 is the simplest, followed by the Win3.x upgrade. The Win9x upgrade is straightforward for the operating system itself, but may present problems with hardware and software compatibility. Microsoft is working with software vendors in an effort to ease the latter problem with upgrade packs. Win2000 setup also supports a report mode in which no actual files are copied; this may be a useful first step if you’re concerned about compatibility issues.
