The processor is directly mounted onto the PCB, and some quick searching turns up that the Transmeta 3400 is a 474-pin BGA (ball grid array). The 5400, 5500, 5600, and 5800 are also listed as 474-pin BGA, so if you are extremely good at soldering such things (and if the 5×00 series is actually pin-compatible with the 3400) you can pull it off…
