To my knowledge, you cannot upgrade the internal CD-ROM to a DVD-ROM. You may be able to use an external DVD-ROM, however, but you probably won’t be able to watch DVD movies, as the XPi only supports MPEG-1 video (DVD is MPEG-2), and you can’t attach an MPEG-2/DVD decoder card (like the Margi cards) because the XPi does not have a zoomed video port.
