Can i upgrade my dell with a new video card and ram?
Yes, it is possible to upgrade by yourself, though opening your Dell case will instantly void your warranty… but if you’ve had that computer for 4 years then your warranty has probably expired already. Just make sure that you buy a video card that fits into one of your slots on the motherboard (probably an AGP for a 4 year old computer). Also make sure that the video card you buy doesn’t require more wattage than your power supply supports, but if you’re buying a mid range card to run WoW, this shouldn’t be a problem either. Your wattage should be printed on the back of your power supply, near the switch on the back of your computer, for reference. As far as your RAM is concerned, you need to buy the speed of RAM that is compatible with your motherboard’s ram slots. The best way to find out what the speed is, is to read the label on the RAM stick that is already in your computer. It will say something like “DDR2-800”.
