Can I Tri-Phaze my MP3’s and restore them to original CD quality?
All MP3’s use a destructive process for compacting song files for simple storage on hard drives, MP3 players, etc… The compacting process actually “removes” certain frequencies that tend to consume a lot of space when converting to a digital format. That is how a 50 Megabyte WAV file is compacted down to a 5 Megabyte 128 kbps MP3. Once those frequencies are gone, there is no way to reclaim them. This creates a sort of “Thin Sound” that is especially noticeable on any recording below 320 kbps. The quality on a 128 or 192 kbps MP3 is pretty poor compared to the original recording. While Tri-Phazers will help the sound to a degree, the quality is still too low to the point that you will probably not realize all the full potential and gains to be had with a higher resolution MP3. Something above 256 kbps, and especially a high resolution 320 kbps recording, will definitely show most of the gains a Tri-Phazer can offer to a regular CD or DVD recording. It just won’t be able to add any of
