Yes. You need the Windows CD that is the same version of Windows as what is printed on your Microsoft Windows Product Key sticker (usually located on the side, or back of your desktop.) If you have a ‘system restore cd’ that came with your computer, it will be very easy, if you only have a ‘Windows’ cd, you are going to run into many bumps in your road, unless downloading and installing network/video/sound/chipset drivers with possibly no internet connection is your kind of thing. Please note that you will be reformatting your hard drive. This means that everything that is on it (music, pictures, programs, movies, documents, and settings) will all be deleted. Some ‘system restore/recovery cds’ have an automated backup that will save these files, but they leave them in a meshy pool of wanted and unwanted items that you have to spend hours sifting through.
