Can I test bore water and grey water / recycled water?

So long as the pH of the water (the acidity) is above about pH5, we would expect no problems. This means that minerals and other contaminants may be present so long as the pH is not affected. We have not yet tested grey water which may have high levels of ammonia and detergents present, but again we would expect no problems. If you know that you have high levels of contaminants in the water / product you wish to test, then you should use Coliquik which is designed to remove the contaminants using a 0.2 micron filter to catch the bacteria and then providing optimum conditions for coliforms to grow. This would apply to salt / sea water, highly chlorinated water, hydrocarbons and other spillage.
