Can I Terminate my Assured Shorthold Tenancy early?
No, you cannot leave early as you are contracted to a year in your tenancy. However if you contact your agency/landlord they may be willing to advertise the property for you and find a new tenant to replace your position on the AST. You can leave the property whenever you like but you are obliged to pay rent until the contract ends. Best thing to do is phone your agency/landlord and see what they suggest. If they are decent they should appreciate your situation and might be able to help.
