Can I take master’s level classes for continuing education or license renewal?

If you’re looking to renew a teaching license by taking master’s level course work, you can take classes as a non-degree student. Two classes or six credit hours of course work can later be applied to the M.Ed. program if you choose to apply and are accepted. It is the responsibility of students to secure approval from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction prior to pursuing course work.
